Indians Get Swept – The Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox wrapped up a three-game set in Cleveland Wednesday afternoon, with the White Sox winning 6-4. Not only did Tribe fans see the first of starter Carlos Carrasco this season, they also saw the return of former outfielder Manny Ramirez, who made his debut in a White Sox uniform. Chicago got on the board first with a solo home run by Alex Rios, his 20th of the year, in the first inning off Carrasco…The Tribe answered back in the third as Asdrubal Cabrera singled home Jason Donald to tie the game up at one…In the fourth, the Indians took the lead on a Jordan Brown single that scored Jayson Nix, who had three hits…Shin-Soo Choo also had three hits for the Indians…The Tribe tacked on another run in the fifth as Chris Gimenez scored on Cabrera double-play groundball…White Sox starter Freddy Garcia only lasted four innings as he left the game with a stiff lower back…Alexei Ramirez hit his 16th home run in the eighth inning off Carrasco to pull the White Sox within two…Carrasco’s day ended in the eighth, going 7.1 innings, giving up six hits and three earned runs, while striking out four and walking one on 101 pitches…The bullpen couldn’t hold the Sox though, as Paul Konerko hit a three-run home run off reliever Justin Germano to give the White Sox a 5-4 lead…The Sox got an insurance run in the ninth as A. Ramirez sacrificed Mark Teahen home to make it 6-4…Germano gets the loss (0-1) and Tony Pena gets the win for the Sox (4-2)…Chris Sale gets his first save of the year…The Indians with getting swept fall to 53-80 on the year as the White Sox surge to 73-60.

Baby Bull Returns – Newly acquired White Sox DH/OF Manny Ramirez made his official debut Wednesday afternoon, going 1-3 with a single and hit-by-pitch.
He received a mixture of cheers and boos from the Tribe crowd when he stepped into the box against Carrasco. Ramirez was acquired off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers Monday.
Roster Moves – The Indians recalled Carrasco, Brown, and RHP Jensen Lewis from Triple-A Columbus before Wednesday’s game.
AFL Rosters Announced – The Arizona Fall League rosters were announced yesterday and the Indians will be sending seven players to play for Peoria, Javelinas, which will be managed by Columbus skipper Mike Sarbaugh. LHP Scott Barnes, LHP Eric Berger, RHP Chen Lee, INF Jason Kipnis, and INF Cord Phelps will all take part in the six-team league.
Kip Hitting – Kipnis went 2-for-6 last night in Akron’s 10-4 win over the Trenton Thunder, moving 2.5 games behind the 4th and final playoff spot with six games remaining. Over his last 45 games, he’s batting .348 with 13 doubles, five triples, five home runs, and 29 RBI and 40 runs scored.
Masterson-piece – RHP Justin Masterson wasn’t a factor in the decision last night in the 4-3 loss while pitching 7.2 innings allowing just one run (4 hits, 2 walks, 7 strikeouts). It was his 18th consecutive game throwing at least five innings, a span in which he’s gone 5-7 with a 4.58 ERA. It’s the longest such streak in one season by an Indian since Kevin Millwood had 20-straight games from June 16-Sept 30th, 2005.
Up Next – The Indians take on the White Sox in the final game of this three-game set in Cleveland. Carrasco (0-0, 0.00 ERA) goes for the Tribe as Freddy Garcia (11-5, 4.89) throws for Chicago. First pitch is 12:05pm ET.
