Yankees Take 3-of-4 – The Indians and Yankees squared off for the final time this season and the Yankees took care of the Tribe for the third time in four games with a 11-4 win at Progressive Field Thursday night…Before the game, Tribe DH Travis Hafner was scratched from the lineup with soreness in his right shoulder…He is day-to-day…Indians scored first in the opening frame, as Austin Kearns drove in Asdrubal Cabrera with a sacrifice fly against Yankee starter Dustin Moseley…Tribe starter Mitch Talbot had a hard time finding the strike zone, walking four before coming out of the game with an apparent injury… He lasted two-plus innings, giving up one hit and one run while striking out one… Alex Rodriguez did bring home Colin Curtis in the third with a sacrifice fly…The game stayed tied at one til the sixth inning, as Yankee shortstop Derek Jeter delievered a two-out RBI single, brining in Brett Gardner…Robinson Cano then tattooed a Tony Sipp pitch over the right-field fence for his 20th home run on the year in the seventh inning…Francisco Cervelli then singled home Nick Swisher to make it 4-1 Yankees…Jeter walked with the bases-loaded to bring home the Yankees third run of the inning…Curtis Granderson added two more runs with a single to make it 7-1 Yanks…Rodriguez joined the hit parade with a two-run single of his own, making it a seven-run seventh inning…The Tribe’s bullpen did not fare well in relief of Talbot, giving up ten runs on eleven hits while walking eight batters…Even Andy Marte took the mound for the Tribe, striking out Swisher on three pitches and working a 1-2-3 ninth…The Tribe did score three in the ninth…Moseley left the game pitching six innings, giving up only one run while giving up four hits and striking out four…Granderson and Curtis both had two hits for the Yankees…Talbot gets the loss, dropping to 8-10 and Moseley gets the win, his first on the year…The Indians finish the night with a record of 42-60, wrapping up a 2-5 home-stand against the Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays…Yankees improve to 64-36.

A-Rod Leaves Cleveland Still Stuck on HR #599.
A-Rod HR Watch – Rodriguez did not hit home run number 600 during Thursday’s game. He went 1-4 with a single, sacrifice fly and three runs batted in with a walk. He leaves Cleveland stuck on home run number 599.
Wood Update – Indians closer Kerry Wood made an appearance at Double-A Akron Thursday night in his first rehab stint since being placed on the disabled list with a right index finger blister. He pitched one inning, not giving up a run or a hit on eight pitches.
He is 1-4 with a 6.30 ERA and eight saves with the Indians this season.
He has also has linked to trade rumors to the Boston Red Sox.
Crowe Soaring – Indians outfielder Trevor Crowe, who had a three-hit game Wednesday night, is hitting .347 (17-49) over his last 14 games with four doubles, one triple, a homer, and six RBI since July 11th.
Down On The Farm – Matt McBride was promoted from Double-A Akron to Triple-A Columbus today after batting .285 with 25 doubles, a triple, 17 home runs, and 64 RBI in 94 games with the Aeros. He hit safety in each of his last nine games with Akron batting .384. His 17 home runs on the year are tied for fourth-most in the Eastern League.
Crossing The Border – The Indians will travel to Canada to take on the Toronto Blue Jays for a three-game set. Starting tomorrow will be Justin Masterson (3-9, 5.19 ERA) for the Tribe against right-hander Shaun Marcum (9-4, 3.36). First pitch 7:07pm.
