| <p>For the most part, "the culture" has meant everything to the Heat, the precepts that Pat Riley delivered upon his arrival to the organization in 1995.</p>
<p>At the core of those precepts was a commitment to man-to-man, one-on-one, take-the-challenge defense.</p>
<p>But with the shift to Erik Spoelstra, the "culture" has been in for something of a shock. Suddenly, the Heat is utilizing zone defense as much as almost anyone in the NBA.</p>
<p>That doesn't mean Spoelstra is necessarily comfortable with the shift.</p>
